BUCKHORN MOTEL (M) – Located on Highway 6 in South Baymouth, five minutes from the Chi-Cheemaun ferry, Buckhorn Motel is a convenient stop for travellers arriving or departing Manitoulin Island. THE KICKING MULE GUEST RANCH (C T TP) – For a unique and adventurous experience, consider spending a night, or a few, with us. Just 15KMs from the MS Chi-Cheemaun ferry dock, our guest ranch is a great “base place” to stay while discovering Manitoulin Island. RED LODGE RESORT (HK M) – Located on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Manitou, Red Lodge Resort has 10 cottages and 5 motel style rooms and licenced dining room and patio serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a delicious Sunday brunch. Reservations recommended! All units are self-contained and come with everything you need for your stay. Non-motorized water activities are included with each rental as well. MANITOULIN ECO PARK (C HK T) – Two rustic family campgrounds on Highway 6 less than 10 minutes north of the ferry. Climax-forested and close to showers, playground, mini-putt, store and a small Wi-Fi access area. Open-field in Canada’s first RASC-designated commercial Dark Sky Preserve for astronomy enthusiasts plus a scatter of hike-in tent sites for serious birders and trackers. Established in 1990, this 260+ acre site hosts miles of hiking trails through 4 distinct ecozones, several rental Teepees and Bunkies for the tent-averse, 3 forest sites with 20-amp service (no water or sewage hookups) plus a plethora of trailer or RV sites for the self-sufficient and an increasing roster of family-friendly and accessible stellar and nature events.
Wayside motel (m) –You are warmly invited to our little independently owned and refreshingly unconventional motel. We are located at the gateway to the historic and vibrant town of Manitowaning at the intersection of Highway 6 and Queen Street and are centrally positioned within the Highway 6 corridor. Our spacious rooms have been recently renovated to provide you with a comfortable, homey experience and a well-deserved rest. We offer 6 rooms - one room with a queen-size bed and five rooms with two double-size beds - each equipped with coffee maker, kettle, small fridge, microwave, TV and Wi-Fi, very comfy pillow-top mattresses and washrooms with tub/shower combination. Our furniture and art are all “Made on Manitoulin”. Guests’ BBQ, ample parking and the surrounding green space are open for you to enjoy.
WHITEHAVEN COTTAGES, TENT AND TRAILER PARK (C) –Nine modern, newly renovated housekeeping cottages on Sheguiandah Bay. Full bathrooms and kitchens, all linens supplied. Located ½ a mile east of Highway 6, 15 km south of Little Current, 54 km north of the ferry dock at South Baymouth. Cottages sleep 2 – 8, electric heat, firepits, firewood, barbecues and Wi-Fi. On-site boat launch and dock available. Excellent fishing for Northern Pike, Bass, Muskie and Walleye. Great swimming with a sand bottom, small beach area for children, canoes, paddleboards and a swim dock. Pet friendly. Most of our guests are repeats, so book early! Open May 15th to October 15th.
