BEBAMIKAWE MEMORIAL TRAIL | Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory | 2–4 hrs | This 14 km trail system features scenic lookouts, educational signage and an Outdoor Fitness Park with resistance training stations. Portions are fully accessible, making it suitable for a wide range of visitors.
BRIDAL VEIL FALLS TRAIL SYSTEM | Kagawong | 1–2 hrs An accessible and scenic trail system connecting the lower village of Kagawong with Bridal Veil Falls. Parking in the lower village allows visitors to enjoy riverside paths, public art installations, heritage plaques, shops and the falls in one walk. Part of the Billings Connections Trail.
CUP AND SAUCER (A.K.A. MICHIGWADINONG) Trails | Highway 540, west of Little Current | 1.5–4 hrs One of Ontario’s most iconic hikes, the Cup and Saucer Trail features dramatic 70-metre cliffs and breathtaking views over the North Channel and Lake Manitou. With up to 12 km of interconnected trails, including a shorter adventure loop, this hike offers rugged terrain and unforgettable vistas.
GORE BAY BOARDWALK TRAIL | Gore Bay Waterfront | 30–60 min This easy, accessible 1.2 km waterfront trail connects the town’s boardwalk with Fish Point Park. Picnic areas, downtown access and a newly constructed breakwall provide opportunities to stroll, relax and explore Gore Bay’s shops and services.
GORE BAY NOBLE TRAIL | Gore Bay East Bluff | 1–2 hrs The Noble Trail follows the East Bluff above Gore Bay, offering moderate gravel paths and scenic lookouts overlooking the harbour. Access points include East Street, Noble Boulevard, the boardwalk and Harold Noble Memorial Park.
HEAVEN'S GATE TRAIL | Hwy 6 (Willisville-Sagamok First Nation) | Multi-day | A rugged 50 km backcountry trail through the La Cloche Mountains, offering expansive views of the North Channel and surrounding lakes. This trail is not well marked or maintained and is recommended only for experienced hikers. Guided hikes are available through Trails of the Eagle Clan.
LEWIS TWIN PEAKS HIKING TRAIL | Sheguiandah, Hwy 6 | 1–1.5 hrs A relatively easy 2 km trail offering two impressive lookout points over Bass Lake and the North Channel. The trail climbs quartzite outcrops and rewards hikers with sweeping views.
LITTLE CURRENT RECREATIONAL WALKING TRAIL | Little Current | 2–4 hrs A 12 km loop around the town of Little Current with minimal elevation change. The trail features benches, lighting, interpretive plaques and a scenic waterfront section along the North Channel. Shorter segments are ideal for casual walks.
MANITOULIN ECO PARK TRAILS | Highway 6,north of Hwy 542, Tehkummah | 1–3 hrs This private park offers three complimentary interpretive trails passing through five distinct ecosystems, including wetlands, forest, meadow, pond and escarpment. The Interpretive Centre features mounted wildlife displays and educational exhibits on mushrooms, fossils, birds, astronomy and local ecology. Picnic areas, observation decks and bird blinds enhance the experience.
MCLEAN'S PARK | New England Road, Assiginack | 1.5 hrs Located on 100 acres of hardwood forest, McLean’s Park features trails following historic logging paths through mature bushland with impressive old-growth trees. The walking loop takes approximately 1.5 hours and also includes designated mountain bike challenge trails.
MISERY BAY PROVINCIAL PARK NATURE RESERVE | South shore, west of Evansville | 1–3 hrs This 860-hectare provincial park protects rare alvar ecosystems and features a network of eight trails totaling approximately 16 km. An easy 4.1 km loop from the visitor centre follows the Lakeshore and Wolf Den Trails, passing woodland, beach ridges and unique geological features.
NIMKEE'S & LITTLE THUNDER'S HIKING TRAIL | Sheshegwaning | 3–6 hrs This developing 20 km trail system on Sheshegwaning First Nation can be enjoyed in sections, with several routes offering beautiful views of the North Channel. Camping and picnic facilities are available. Trail maps can be obtained at the Band Office or local convenience store.
POINT GRONDINE PARK | Highway 637, near Killarney | Half–Full Day A First Nation–owned park spanning over 7,000 hectares of wilderness, old-growth pine forest, rivers and interior lakes. The trailhead sits at the northern terminus of the Georgian Bay Coast Trail. Access requires a permit, available online or by phone.
