Gore Bay Harbour Days
July 26 - July 28
Gore Bay’s sheltered harbour is an important stop for mariners cruising the North Channel so it is no surprise that the community’s major summer celebration, held annually the fourth weekend in July, is named the Gore Bay Harbour Days. It’s a weekend of fun that includes music, great community theatre, a cardboard boat race, the Big Bike ride, the famous Rotary Club fish fry and many activities for children including a soap box derby. All of the town’s service clubs (the Lions, Rotary, Legion), as well as other organizations like the Manitoulin Writers’ Guild, work together to make this a banner event. The focus of Gore Bay Harbour Days is, where else? The extensive waterfront and green space that are central features of the community.
